TONY MARTIN

GUITARIST/SINGER/SONGWRITER

     MY GUITAR IS THE VOICE OF MY SOUL”.

TONY MARTIN is an artist in the true sense of the word, a man who makes his craft a fine art. His versions of classic country, swamp/rock and blues songs are stamped with his own distinctive style and sound. This comes from his dedication and love for the guitar. Tony started playing the guitar at the age of 13, influenced in the early days by such guitar greats as;
B.B. king, Robert Johnson, Elmore James, Eric Clapton, Lightning Hopkins, Ry Cooder and John Fogarty.
He has been playing the guitar for over 40 years and also plays the banjo, the mandolin, harmonica and the slide guitar. Tony has written over 150 songs. He has also been nominated for a number of awards at the Tamworth Country Music Festival and is a regular guest at most other festivals both here and over seas. In fact Tony has toured the U.S.A. playing venues, radio and T.V. shows in Texas and Nashville.
He is also well respected by his fans and his peers throughout the music industry as a performer, multi-instrumentalist, producer and a director of his own recording and publishing company.

REVIEW - TONY MARTIN (Sydney, Australia)
I had the pleasure recently of seeing Tony Martin live. Tony is a seasoned musician/songwriter with around 30 years experience both in Australia and abroad, and is mainly known in the country circles with 7 albums to his credit. Tony has included a vast range of blues based material on his release "Lost In Transit" and is currently recording a new album which will be all blues.

Tony also appears in a variety of modes, being a very versatile entertainer. There is the solo mode, The Tony Martin Duo, The Tony Martin Band, and also a special tribute show called The Acoustic Revolution Show which features the songs of Cat Stevens, Bob Dylan, James Taylor, John Denver, Donovan, Harry Chapin, Neil Young and Don McLean. He has recently returned from a tour of the USA where he played many venues in Texas and Nashville and appeared on TV shows.

I was very impressed with his blues material, not only was the musicianship of a high standard, but the feeling and character that Tony is able to impart rates amongst the select few who have the gift of expression.
